I am struck by this conversation... a ...How lovely.
I am struck by this conversation... a shared yearning to feel the aliveness of HERE even in the midst of a culture that tells us we should desire "there" or a "something".
how radical. how sweet.
Let's support each other, E and S. Let's remember to hear the rain and sit and write. Let's turn off the noise now and then and listen to here.... as much as we can.
It is such a joy to have oompany :-)Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13919635902233408248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2985247070416699455.post-43683827956700385212010-03-13T09:55:06.863-08:002010-03-13T09:55:06.863-08:00Mindfulness does take much training....with lots o...Mindfulness does take much training....with lots of purpose...
Today, Mindfulness for me took place this morning..on a Saturday....before I opened my eyes...when the house was still and quiet...when you can hear the birds chirping...when you hear the rain fall on the roof...when you can hear your son begin to stir in the room next door..when yourself breath...and yes...when you can have a conversation with God or yourself. You can hear it all despite the sound of car tires driving by and people starting their Saturday morning routine....and experience the "Here" that Beth talks about. And while it may not last long and the moment moves on to the next and life goes on as always, you wait til the next moment of "Here" that can be experienced............
Thanks Beth! I have never blogged either but thought I would take the time to think "aloud" in your place of Mindfulness.S Carrollhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16479029629639006565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2985247070416699455.post-6128655493202439352010-03-08T13:57:29.312-08:002010-03-08T13:57:29.312-08:00so happy you posted a comment, Eleni.
I think this...so happy you posted a comment, Eleni.
I think this spot is a place for all of us to think aloud together... about what stirs us.
Usually if something is sparked in one, it speaks to another.

I love pondering aloud! Thank you for joining the conversation...Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13919635902233408248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2985247070416699455.post-40120265899896562272010-03-08T13:50:50.559-08:002010-03-08T13:50:50.559-08:00exactly where I'd like to get to....and I do f...exactly where I'd like to get to....and I do find myself having to actually "practice" (in the literal sense). Lots of waking up to do--thankfully, we natually do that each morning-- so if we "really" wake up to each new day with a clean slate, a fresh start, a ritual (as Christine says), a cleansing journal (as you do), we might just turn the practice into a practice, an exercise before the to do list.... lots of trying to be instead of doing...lots of conversations with myself and God(on my walks, in the night when I wake)....being honest....freeing....I'm loving that private time...just me and me! HA!learning to enjoy my company! Ha!
Thanks for sharing...never blogged before, hope this is the way you do it! eAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
